The guys of CHC really DONT like PW. You only have to look at the old Exeter West chairman posts on one of the CHC posts in the past.

Well i suppose with LNWR Crewe gone/going and now Waterman leaving CHC will finally be clear of all the stuff it wanted to be. I just hope that it now doesnt become a dump for the CHC diesels.....

Wasnt the lease up for review? With CHC having 25 years left. You could actually do something great on that site! Or you could do a swap for land..... with the land that was the Old Crewe North engine shed site. Now there is a place you could build a cracking museum! Great access to the station, space for car parking. A NRM outstation would be great there!

Hopefully this gives CHC space to develop an offering , demonstration line and museum of Crewe

Offer out of ticket loco's undercover storage. Exeter West a chance to shine and main line stabling

No I do not currently volunteer
Less BP, less seller commission, less CGT, rather less I suspect.

Call me a cynic, but there seems to be a story in the press every couple of years about Pete Waterman starting a new venture, involving training up lots of young people and the whole establishment will be the best thing since sliced bread, or the best thing since the abandoned 66XX, or the abandoned NG16, or the abandoned group of heritage diesels on site.

I wonder what return this current announcement will actually get out of it before the next big announcement a couple of years down the line.

With the on going relocation of the LNWR Heritage business from the Crewe Heritage Centre to the new Locomotive Services facility at the old Crewe Diesel Depot, the Crewe Heritage Trust is looking forward to regaining full occupation of its exhibition building in time for the 2016 season as well as to returning the site to a far more presentable appearance for visitors. Several steam locomotive owners/groups have expressed interest in using Crewe Heritage Centre as their main line operating base, and the Trust has issued notice to the Waterman Heritage Trust to remove its collection or pay storage fees at commercial rates, hence the recent announcement by the WHT. With several new Trustees recently there is a new up beat feel around the Centre and its working volunteers and supporters. For the first time in many years the opportunity is now there to make this a major visitor attraction for the town of Crewe, and in the coming months there will be a new website and following further maintenance on the Centre's class 47 locomotive, it is hoped that this loco will again be available for hire to preserved railways.
