Is anything know of the condition of BP, after her withdrawal????

Like many have heard stories of major boiler surgery required, know the survey on her will get to the bottom of her condition, after strip down.

You get it in all hobbies. Was at Luton Airport yesterday and one "knowledgeable" individual intimated that there would be a mass exodus of biz-jets at 14:00. The number that called up ground control for permission to start? Precisely one.

It's been reported in the past that she may need a new middle cylinder.

I've just had a conversation with a Didcot manager and he confirms that a request had been put in for 60532 to move to Didcot, just as the A2 changed hands, but he has heard nothing back from the new owner regarding his request.

It was requested as part of a proposal to organise an LNER type gala.

On a different note the P2 frames belonging to the Doncaster P2 Locomotive Trust have arrived at Didcot.

London Bridge: If I read your info correctly you now appear to be saying that the request came from the guys at Didcot and was made to Barrow Hill. I think most of us who read your initial note assumed that the new owners had requested Didcot to take the loco for a period until they are ready to commence its overhaul, whereas if my understanding of your latest post is correct it is quite likely that the new owners have not knowledge of Didcot's request!

Oh right, so it's Locomotive Services Ltd.

Thought it was some new mag I'd not heard of.

How disappointing. The only news there seems to be official press releases.

I heard it was going to do the Winter CME, and get a repaint and will run as one of it's class mates...

Did I seed enough to feed the fire .... :)

ps.. Didn't say what year, when or why... :)

Only thing I think is certain is they guys who now maintain her, have a huge amount on their plate right now with a good number of others in the works one way or another, so I guess we have a while to wait yet.

How far away is the Almanac from completion? (if you'll pardon the pun)

With 60019 pencilled in for late 2015 in the shops at Crewe it opens up the coincidence of the ex Drury family locos being overhauled in parallel for some of the time. Assume the A4 will be a shorter job than A2.
Good job they took on someone with recent LNER pacific overhaul experience.
