Let's hope that 44871 wasn't still in steam at Swanage on Monday, or I can see someone here saying that fire was caused by the wind carrying a spark from the Black 5.

34067 moves to York on Saturday, then back to Carnforth on Monday. Waverley out via Castleford on Sunday due to engineering works (with the Mk2 maroon set).

 

I believe the Intercity rake will be used on the NWCE as that’s being used on the Saltburn trip today and returns to Southall this evening

Quick look at RTT shows paths back to Chester for the loco to turn, so problems with the triangle at Valley maybe (speculation on my part but as far as I know it sees little or no use these days).

 

Looks like the whole train is being taken back to Chester to turn. Still, at least Llandudno is a better destination than Holyhead on a Sunday afternoon!
