I've been looking on the Bluebell websites and cannot find a roster for locos or stock anywhere. I know that only a few railways provide this.

I'm thinking about visiting the Bluebell soon, can anyone confirm that if I telephone the day before I would be able to find out which carriage sets would be operating? I have yet to experience the Maunsells or the Metropolitans and would like to travel on them.

Here's the basic loco roster for the month:

    Details of carriages are here:

I find the Bluebell Railway's website a bit temperamental - often I get an error page, but refreshing the browser seems to fix it. Do other people get this problem?

The website certainly is temeramental, I also often get an error page or blank page which as you say eventually comes up after refreshing the browser several times. I can also reproduce the problem accross browser types i.e. Internet Explorer, Firefox and Safari.

The Public Train Information page is also updated with a shorter lead time than the loco roster, so when the two pages don't agree as to which engine will be in service, the PTI page is more likely to be accurate. (The loco roster is the plan but that often gets overtaken by events as the plan for locos is written to cover a rolling month or more. Whereas I believe the PTI page is filled in using the weekly Special Traffic Notice for the week, so tends to be more accurate. And of course, it incorporates coaching stock if you are interested).

If you want to cross reference the PTI which gives carriage numbers, the stock list is here: http://www.bluebell-railway.co.uk/bluebell/car_list.html For the record, the Mets are 368/387/394/412; the Maunsells are 1309/1336/6686. The Maunsells are in service most ordinary weekends on the 12.00 / 14:00 / 16:00 service. I'd imagine as the season goes on, they will probably be strengthened with SECR 100 seater 1098, which is back in traffic after an overhaul.
