Arson attack destroys two wagons on MNR

Two wagons were destroyed by fire late on Thursday evening - report in the EDP -http://www.edp24.co.uk/news/fire_won_t_shunt_mid_norfolk_railway_show_on_to_a_sideline_1_2288355. The wagons are beileved to be pipe B741748 and tube B73006. I understand that heat was so intense that rails underneath the wagons have buckled. Apparently this is one of a series of suspicious fires in Wymondham.

On a more positive note, the crowds have been out for the railway's steam gala, if the number of cars parked around Dereham station is anything to go by!

I travelled on the MNR for the first time in May. You've got the makings of a very fine railway indeed, regardless of whether or not it is steam or diesel and I wish you all the very best. Oh and the cream tea in Dereham Station is highly recommended!

You were correct quarterjack, the wagons were in the siding approaching Wymondham junction. This was the only place stock had been stored in Wymondham.

pmh_74 - It is unlikely that the wagons are repairable, I understand the frames are twisted from the heat.
