Does anyone know if any of the SAR Baldwin built locomotives survive, such as NG9s and NG10s?

    Thanks

Genuine NG10 No. 61 still survives, I believe it is in the care of the Sandstone Heritage Trust in SA. The Brecon pacific is a very close relative, having been built to essentially the same design, but with minor detail differences for industrial use in the Cape. No NG9s survive to my knowledge.

On the Cape Gauge a Baldwin Pacific, no.850, is/was plinthed at Theunissen in the Free State.

Another SAR Baldwin 16DA is preserved on display at Wankie colliery in Zimbabwe. Three 16DA locos were bought by Wankie Colliery for further use after being retired from SAR. They were finally replaced at Wankie in the early '80s.

    Cheers,

    Alan
