......and other news from the Welsh Highland Railway (Porthmadog)

** WHR TV presents...... RUSSELL: THE MOVIE

WHR TV has been granted exclusive access (OK, so no-one else asked
;-) to the Russell restoration shops, and has produced a short video
of progress which is now online. It includes footage of the recent
shotblasting, and a behind the scenes look at the kit of parts
    awaiting final assembly.

You can find the video online on the WHR TV page of the company
    website:
    And on YouTube
    - http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=pLe3SXFDkjQ

Captions have now been added to the Russell gallery, which means the
    pictures should make more sense!

** BUFFET CAR PROGRESS - exterior matchboarding has now been
installed on the Porthmadog end. Both ends will have to be done
before the roof can be canvassed. Photo of the work in progress is
    here:

    ** SUMMER PUBLICITY – Today's Daily Post (Friday 15th) includes a
full page feature article about visiting the WHR(P), written by a
family from Trawsfynydd who came to review the railway last
weekend. It gives us a five star rating, and includes glowing
    praise such as:

"I must say it's the most child-friendly place I've ever been and
we've been to a lot. It's a great day out for the kids, they all
fell asleep on the way home, which to me is the seal of approval."

"I couldn't fault the portions, choice of menu or cost and the whole
dining experience was relaxed, which is a novelty."
