    In which case the zoo's trustees are to be praised for speedy and effective implementation of their decision, however good or bad that underlying decision may have been.

    Yes I am an active volunteer
    All sold to one individual (including track) who found appropriate homes for the items he didn't personally want to keep. Was well done and very efficient

    There has been some interesting discussion in the West Country on PZR.

    Apparently closure of the railway was due to the poor condition of the track and the zoo (understandably) wanting to focus funds on the animals rather than repair it.

    It is alleged that the zoo had a significantly higher offer for it all from a commercial outfit, but due to the several month delay making a decision they lost that offer, and in the end it was all sold at not much above scrap value - certainly the second loco and coaches were sold in a last minute panic.
