I will start off with an apology for posting this as I admit I have no idea where else I can do so. Thus I am open to ridicule for those who so desire to throw any my way. My question is, does anyone know what happened to monitoring steam tours? I used to pay into an account which used my mobile number and I could receive and submit up to the minute live information on steam tours. I just don't seem to be able to find anything on this anymore. Can anyone help?
    Thanks
    Ian

I suspect that the advent of sites like Realtimetrains where you can pretty much see Network Rail's data on train progress killed off the demand for that service - why rely on sporadic sighting information from whatever enthusiasts happen to be out and happen to subscribe to the service when you can go straight to the source of the information.

    Hi Ian,
As an occasional user of Real Time Trains (usually referred to as RTT on this forum) I don't feel qualified to advise you on how to use it.
However, there is a thread pinned in the 'What's going on' section of this forum, or follow this link if it works:

    https://www.national-preservation.com/threads/rtt-and-things-you-may-not-know-or-realise.255631/

There is advice on how to interpret the information, and warnings about potential pitfalls.

I was on a replacement bus a few weeks ago and the chap next to me glanced at my phone and said "ah Real Time Trains, I use that". Turned out he was a train driver. So google 'Real Time Trains' and have a look, I'm sure you will find it helpful.
