To be honest having been a fireman at the K&ESR for 10 years, I think that whilst the ride is bad it's overstated mostly by people who would prefer a different type of loco. I'm with James squared on the damage it actually does to the track...

The new fencing looks like the same system thats used on the K&ESR now. Id guess its probably the same contractors. Only small and emergency repairs are done by volunteers. The rolling replaccement is done by the contractors. I think the same...
