DavidW liked acorb's post in the thread Most interesting short heritage line..
I should really give a shout out to the guys at Blaenavon. It has extended, but still falls into the short category at a couple of miles. That 2 miles though is mainly on a ferocious gradient and runs through a starkly beautiful, post industrial,...

[ATTACH]Just in case anyone forgot what steam was on the NYMR, 80136 has been out on test to Goathland today. Steam should *hopefully* be returning on Saturday to Whitby for now, unsure about the other 18 miles

DavidW liked The Gricing Owl's post in the thread Bluebell Railway General Discussion.
A rather tiring day at the Bluebell today, it's this getting older nonsense I think! But a very worthwhile day. Train loadings looked good as far as I could see, and I doubt there were many places unsold on the Golden Arrow lunch train. I did...

DavidW liked brennan's post in the thread Plym valley extension.

DavidW liked Kingscross's post in the thread Plym valley extension.
[ATTACH] [ATTACH] I called in at the Plym Valley Railway today after a stop overnight in Plymouth yesterday. It’s very charming, clearly unlikely to ever be a Premier League line but it was a lot tidier than when I last saw it eight years ago. A...
