    Does anyone know the mechanical condition of pannier tank 5764 as it’s been out of traffic since 2011. How much work would be involved to restore it? In a similar vein, does the SVR still have a spare 57xx pannier boiler and set of wheels?

    The spare pannier boiler is in bridgnorth yard as it has been since it came off 7714. I don't think any work has been undertaken on it. On a separate note, 4150 hauled it's first passenger train in preservation today, double heading with 7714.

    Isn't 1618 due to be the next MLS project once Stowe and 541 are back out? Mentioning U classes....I wonder if Swanage will get round to doing anything more with the other U and N? (Off topic I know, sorry) Chris
