Repton is an express passenger engine built for the Hastings Line. Long, heavy trains, at fast speeds. It's a powerful engine, especially for such a narrow loading gauge. But as soon as you take it backwards up a steep hill at 25mph, it can't do...

Sort of, as it was created by predictive text. Definitely guilty as charged though! The disconcerting issue for me are the three typical responses to corrections.. "Does it matter?" "Language evolves" "Don't be such a Grammar N**i" In other...

Yes, things went quite well on Monday, my freight train was always with 10 minutes of its timetable. I like the 'double track' shot in the cutting at Toddington. Wish it was double track out of the station too, for some weird reason it becomes...

Well, what can I say? Epically challenging I think best sums it up. Over the course of the weekend, we had several heat-related medical emergencies including one member of crew who, whilst doing ok, is still not at all well, and a missing...

Really not sure ‘platform tickets ’ will work for the railway when its running an expensive to put on event. Whether a visitor rides during the festival or not it costs the railway the same to put on the show so why would they encourage people...

Considering the heat and associated problems that the organisers and staff have had to deal with this weekend, today's timetable appears to have been well received. After hearing of the poor health of a crew member yesterday, it was imperative...
