Great to see a Black Jubilee but I don't know which was worse - the changeable weather or the early departure from Hellifield. Having missed the Billington shot through the early running a quick dash to Lostock Hall produced some consolation :

wonder when they will sort this out, or is this a permanent steam ban over 2 Trans-Pennine routes?

Lot of faffing around involving tender first and running around the POB if so. Wonder if consideration was given to sending it via Carnforth - big loop but no shunting or tender first needed?

Looking again, it seems pathed into Preston GL for a layover then maybe to Farington Curve Junction before taking the Blackburn line, as opposed to taking the route directly from Preston so maybe no tender first but a short propel back down Farington?

It may be tender first to Castleton triangle/Heywood out of Bury, but will be engine first to Manchester, and with Farington curve, should be the right way to York

Not wishing to deliberately rattle any cages, why will not people learn to correctly spell 'Farington'?

Is it possible that there'll be an infernal combustion machine at the other end of the POB? Certainly as far as Hellifield?
