I saw 92214 referred to as "an advertising hoarding for the owners business" in one of the mags letters page, but that quite literally is, maybe as revenge I should tweet "paint it br blue" to the relevant address ;)

Meanwhile back at the thread . . . The Duchess has kindly invited Mrs Wistle and I to join her on a trip to Carlisle, she is sending a carriage for us to Bolton (pronounced Bowt'n) on Saturday morning. Only the slightest bit disappointed not to be returning down the WCML as I've yet to 'do' Shap southbound behind 46233. On the other hand a series of stops, as experienced last week, would not best please Mrs W after what she plans to be a full afternoon's shopping in Carlisle.

Fingers crossed for a good run.

Aah, by the time I caught up with that it was a Merchant Navy leaving at 01.10!

I like the second bit at the crossing, nice composition & means of keeping dry from the look of it! :)

In rather damp overcast conditions, LMS 8P Class 4-6-2 No. 46233 'Duchess of Sutherland' approaches Garsdale at speed with the northbound 'Cumbrian Mountain Express'

What a difference in the weather as LMS 8P Class 4-6-2 No. 46233 'Duchess of Sutherland' races through Cotehill with the return leg of the 'Cumbrian Mountain Express'

Good locations Stephen and great shots as usual. Too damp for me to head north today but wish I had now especially with next week cancelled.
