    I'm just back from a holiday in Canada. During my visit I noticed a few old friends from these shores being put to good use.
    I also managed to see, purely by chance, the Canadian Lancaster flying overhead but was unable to get a photo.

    I think the RT used to be on the Niagara Falls job back in 1982 when I was there.

    THE RT LOOKS LIKE AN RTW (8 foot wide),NOT an RTL which is 7' - 6" wide

    Thanks for those (not so sure about the tacho bar bus:() and RM2210 needs a wheel nut rim protector.:)
    I doubt if I could climb into the saddle nowadays with my arthritic old joints. In the days gone by I could leap up like a gazelle.:D:cool:

    Of course, it is an RTW.
    I think I just convinced myself it was an RTL as soon as I saw it without thinking about it. Doing a bit of research suggests it is probably either RTW127 or RTW128, both spent time working at Niagara Falls in the past.

    Just checked a photo I have from June / July 1982.
    It shows an RT (no idea what breed)
    Cannot make out the fleet number but the registration plate reads KLB 549
    With an Ontario plate fastened above BA4 850
    Tried loading a photo but not possible.

    Since when did the 18s go to Tottenham via Brixton and all the other places mentioned on the blind?! The 18 was one of my local bus routes and I used it every day to get to school. It ran from Edgware to the Empire Pool at Wembley.

    Later, when the 662 trolleybuses came off I think it was extended to Paddington. But not Tottenham! Not to my knowledge, anyway.

    When I were a lad in Wembley in the 1960's the 18 was a local route of mine as well. It ran from Sudbury Swan to Euston with a peak hour extension to London Bridge. The route was then cut back to Baker Street but nowadays runs through to Euston again.
    In the photos it displays 18 as that is also it's fleet number. All buses in the fleet display their fleet number as the route number. It has a Tottenham destination as the driver on this occasion was originally from there.

    As you have probably gathered, I too spent my formative years in Wembley. In those days, the mid-1950s, the 662 trolleybus used to terminate at The Swan in Sudbury and the 18 went from the Empire Pool to Edgware. I used it as a youngster to go to Saturday Morning Pictures at the Harrow Granada around 1950.

    I never had any reason to go to Edgware, but apart from using it to go to school in Wembley, I used it to go ice skating at the Empire Pool once or twice.

    I was aware that the 18s were extended to Paddington to replace the trolleybuses, but didn't know that they went as far as Euston.
