Hi all. A couple of us have been trying to think of lines that have NEVER had an Austerity tank either based there, or on loan from another line. We've come up with a big fat blank so far, but that's mainly because we are highly ignorant! So, which lines haven't...?

I can't remember the West Somerset ever having one, or the Bluebell

Thanks guys. 61264: The Bluebell borrowed "Northiam" from the KESR for a gala in the 80's. That one nearly caught me out, as I was about 7 when it went there!

...might I get lynched for suggesting a series of narrow gauge railways, on the basis that you didn't restrict your interest to just standard gauge operations?

Thought so, in which case I'll chuck the "Tanat Valley Light Railway" in as a suggestion instead.

The Bluebell has also had the MHR converted-Austerity that masquerades as "Thomas" about five or six years ago.

I was going to suggest Didcot, but of course they now have a resident Austerity of sorts.

Telford Steam Railway has never had one if I remember correctly. Helston too, though that may be stretching the point a little.
... and the North Tyneside Railway.

Whitrope is an obvious one, as is the Yorkshire Wolds Railway.

    The East Kent, perhaps?
