It should be, havnt actually seen it , following on RTT. When it arrives at KD it comes off the front and turns. Cl 47 goes on front with Ollie on the back and hauls the consist to BH. Ollie is then right way round for tomorrow

My appologies for the duf gen. It is not round the way it was expected to be. All I can say is that arrangements were made for Ollie to visit the turntable hence my expectation of smokebox first.

Not to worry, you weren't the only one who thought it would be smokebox first. I bet there was somebody who knew for definite that it would be tender first but obviously they weren't telling.

According to the STN, it will arrive at platform 2 and draw straight into the Pumphouse siding so that the back of the train is inside the up starter. So that puts roughly the last six coaches in the platform (with the class 47 just north of the platform, but inside the starter) and the front carriages (five? six?) south of the platform, with 70013 even further up the Pumphouse siding. Unusual bonus mileage for anyone in the leading carriages!

Interesting if true, as it prevents 70013 running into the yard for servicing - I guess the time is limited anyway. Where is the previous water stop, and where is the next one after departure?

Interesting - the STN has a departure from SP at 3.15 listed as "WR + Pass" (WR = Wealden Rambler). Haulage is the 9F. So that suggests that a few passenger coaches will be attached to the WR set - otherwise there is a gap of more than two hours in the timetable between 2.25 and 4.35 ex-SP.

I suspect 70013 will be able to take water while in the pumphouse siding. There is a high-pressure supply there (previously used for washouts, before the washout pit moved). So if necessary, the support crew could connect to that and lay out hoses up to the engine, which will probably end up pretty close to the pumphouse.

Incidentally, for anyone interested, locos out tomorrow should be:

    45231 on the 09:45 / 12:15 / 2:25 ex-SP and 10:45 / 1:15 / 3.30 ex-EG Passenger
    263 on the 11:00 / 1:30 / 4.35 ex-SP and 12:00 / 2.53 / 5.30 ex-EG Passenger
    92212 on the 3.15 ex-SP / 4.05 ex-EG Wealden Rambler / Passenger
    700013 / 47xxx on the 2.15 ex-EG / 3.40 ex-SP Charter

What's this about "junction". The "DC" or "new" line, now London Overground, diverges from the main line at Bushey, but there is no junction.

There used to be a goods yard (at what was then Bushey & Oxhey). It's now a car park, so presumably a water carrier will be positioned there, but eight minutes still seems a very short time for taking water.

Must be auto correct since I remember typing "just " rather than junction to give a idea of location.

This isn't really the right place to ask, but I'm not sure what would be the right place.

It's some time since I used the system of SMS messages about the running of railtours. I've tried clicking the mobile phone link near the top of http://www.uksteam.info/tours/t13/t1102b.htm and I get
    "National Preservation - Error
The requested page could not be found."
but also telling me that I need to register (whereas of course I AM registered and signed in in order to be writing this).

Am I doing something wrong or is the system not working?

Thank you for that. It will tell me when I need to get to Bushey. But the SMS system has its place too, if one can use it.
