That error of mine is confirmation that the initial tests of Warp 10+ speeds did reduce those on board to total gibbering wrecks. Although I have done the sums again and it seems my therapy bills will be somewhat less than the fee I got for being on the test flights.

 

With all due respect Herr Uhu it was not your money wasted nor your day spoiled by the events of yesterday.
Those of us who wanted steam haulage didn't get it and we're miffed as a result. Those who were off to visit other attractions outside Weymouth missed out as they failed to make their onward connections and they were miffed. Those who went simply for a day at the seaside and found their tine their cut short by almost a third were also miffed. We all made the best of a bad job but I think we have a right to a bit of a moan.

Didn't we have a lovely time the day we went to Weymouth
A beautiful day, we had lunch on the way and all for under a pound you know
But on the way back I cuddled with Jack and we opened a bottle of cider

Then on the sand we heard a brass band that played the Diddlely-Bump-Terrara
Flossy and me had one cup of tea then we took a Paddler boat out

Any news on diesel involvement?

 

This is not exactly straight from the horses mouth, but a friend of a friend who claims to have seen the working notices for tomorrow's trip to Weymouth says there's no mention of diesel assistance: "70013, support coach and 8 passenger cars" he says. Let's hope he's well-informed.

 

Network Rail has lifted the ban in the South East so here's hoping the same decision has been made by the Wessex zone!

In full dull at Sparkford Hill on the return from Weymouth. At least it wasn't raining this week, and no diesel in the consist!

Last week's run with a Type 3 Diesel pushed by a Castle Class Steam locomotive outside Bath.

70013 arrived at Bristol TM at 20:07, just 60 secs after Nunney Castle arrived at the station from Kingswear.
For a moment it was like being transported back in time. Just wonderful. <BJ>

Very nice photograph. I appreciate that it's taken at Sparkford Hill but where is that in relation to the village?

Yes, I studied that same map but was looking for a location with a main road passing under the railway and then running parallel to it. Also as there is a stile in the field I was looking for a public footpath at the same location. <BJ>
