    Evening all,

The Railcar Association are inviting enthusiasts, including all members of Nat Pres, to vote on a "Railcar of the Year", a new award (no prize, just a bit of fun) to (some would say in a tongue-in-cheek sort of way!) give merit to those preserved DMU's that have gone the extra mile this year.

Currently we're asking for suggestions/nominations, the most popular of which will go to a public vote. More details of what the award is about, what you can nominate and the on-line form is available at Birmingham Railcar Workgroup.

Anyone can nominate and any railcar can be nominated.
Nominations are open till December 5th.

It would be really good if we had lots of suggestions (it's free!), as it won't be very democratic if only a few people chip in. It will be an annual fixture if enough people get into the spirit and there's a good response.

    Cheers,
    Chris

If it is, then this thread should be moved to a different forum section. Otherwise some people might not see it.

As indeed did Germany 1944 ish.

The good doctor Herr Diesel injected coal dust in his first 'compression ignition' engines.

Should the award be renamed "DMU of the Year" then?

I've renamed the thread to avoid any confusion on this forum, at least.

Depends...do we consider it petrol-powered as it once was, or diesel-powered as it is going to be?!
