This morning I was at the Mid-Hants for a photo charter with 31806 before the day's services started. We only had three hours but fortunately the sun did the honours. Thanks to Matt and Warwick and the crew for an excellent morning. My photos of the charter can be found here Mid-Hants Railway - Saturday 3rd November 2012 - Paul Gildersleve's Photos | SmugMug

    Regards,

The Bishop's Sutton shot with the dark exhaust is a scorcher.

Thanks chaps. It does make getting up at 4am worthwhile when you get those results.

    Brilliant Paul, nice one.

On the next one, so you think Matt and Warwick will use the maroon CCT?

    Kind regards

    Superb shots there chaps!

We could hear you 'having fun' all morning from the yard at Medstead above the noise of angle grinders etc!!!!!!

I just hope (fingers crossed) that the weather/light play ball on Sunday for the 925 Charter that I'm on.

Chris I dont think the silver roof goes down well with Matt on this .. Can it be painted grey/black? Other wise its use would be limited on a charter.
Which isnt what you want to hear after the work involved in it.

    Thanks for the reply David.

The silver roof is authentic with the early 50,s freight maroon and the lettering on the bottom right only.

Possibly next year it can be painted black so this is not the time of the year to be running around on roofs though.

    Best regards

Indeed its authentic but running with dark/grey roofs on the coaches it does stand out . You know photographers they strive for things that arent always possible without bottomless pockets and time.

Here are my results from Saturday morning Mini Charter 31806 Mid Hants Railway 03.11.2012 its interesting to see how the siiver roof of the green cct doesnt look so bad with green coaches the Maroon version shows the roof more.

I don't think I've seen the maroon CCT. Has it been finished recently?

    Cheers,

    Paul
