Everything has been tested, gauged and works as it should. The weather forecast shows an improvement for the weekend. It looks a great show, we look forward to welcoming you to our biggest gala so far, and our first tender engine!

PS If you do come and and it is raining spare a thought for the pilotman - guess who?

Hi. Video footage of the Gala on Saturday. It was a great event and well attended. Middleton Railway are to be thanked for putting on this event

Hope you enjoy watching. We enjoyed filming it, MonopodMan (Joseph) and a few clips chipped in from Monopodmansdad (Mark)

Fantastic event. It was superb all round. Great to catch up with a few of the people I know there as well. Guest I persuaded along seemed to like it all too. Good to see it well attended.

Had to miss today as some low life decided to break into the car but, by all accounts, the attendance (and income) exceeded all expectations. A fantastic weekend and a credit to the young team that organised it all.
If you missed the event, next weekend sees the model railway exhibition so, although there won't be seven locos in steam, there'll still be plenty to see and do.

Sorry to hear that Steve, I did notice you weren't there - but it was a fantastic day, and thoroughly enjoyable. I understand it was successful both operationally and financially too, so well done all.

Quote of the weekend from one of our volunteers - "It's not the length (of the railway), it's what you do with it!"

Great efforts from all involved in the execution of the weekend in any way - here's to the next one...

Definitely one of the greats of 2012; the atmosphere was all there especially on the Balm Road branch. Watching the Barclay (or any of the others come to that) starting the goods out of the industrial estate with a church spire overlooking, took me back to the 1960s/1970s.

Due to work, I could only visit for a couple of hours in the afternoon on Sunday but it was well worth the visit from for the pennines. Definately the best Gala Ive attended here ( and its usually one of my favorites as well). Took the train a couple of times to Park Halt - some nice changes here! and then walked back to Moor road one one occasion taking a few shots along the way. Andy Hardy and his team are going to have to work hard next time to beat this!
    Well Done !

There aren't many "major" anniversaries left now! Probably the anniversaries of the founding of the various Leeds locobuilders would be the next starting points. Hunslet, Hudswell & manning all started around the same time and maybe a gala can be created around these?

The MRT has a good selection of locos from each of those builders, and I am sure Andy and his crew can work some magic on those.
