Looks like 47760 is currently en route from York to Scarborough light engine. 70013 passed Bridlington at 14:28 (75 minutes late). Return still showing on the system to depart Scarborough at 16:02 (York 17:02 - 17:23). Possibly diesel hauled throughout on the return? (If anyone knows any different, i'd be happy to be corrected!).

Once again it appears that the railtour passengers have been effectively cheated out of a significant amount of steam mileage because,. in this instance, of Notwork fails inability to maintain the network.

I was thinking of breaking my self imposed ban on traveling on mainline steam to book on the Elizabethan on Monday.

Now I don't think I'll bother. Why buy a product that there is more chance of it going wrong rather than correctly?

No fault of the loco, stock, promoter or operator today but you can always rest assured Notwork Fail will cock it up for you.

Hardly a major problem, the main part of the trip was with steam, hardly going to break any records between Scarborough and York anyway :O

    47760 for the record.

    1. Are Notwork Fail going to ban all signals like they did steam on the ECML when 30777 had a mishap?
2.Who is going to pay any delay "fines" because Notwork Fail can't keep their traffic lights working? They can't fine themselves can they.
    3. Are Notwork Fail going to refund the steam tour passengers because their day was ruined, more chance on landing on the moon I think.
Before anyone bleats about cable theft etc, perhaps NF should improve security generally & make cables more inaccessable, ie bury or encase them.

What a load of old tosh!
Signalling failures have been around as long as signals, nothing new here.

Doesn't matter, still at least over an hour less at the destination plus lost steam mileage, irrespective of how much.

Not exactly cheap. I thought that the idea was to eventually change to fibre optics where possible, but I guess thats not so good for (signalling) power cables.

Perhaps you have not noticed but I have seen many signs of work going on trying to make the cabling more secure, but this is a countrywide thing, and a hugely expensive task.

Maybe we should see how many who were actually paying passengers on the train, have any real grouse about the tour, since they are the only ones who have been affected by the delay and reduction in steam mileage.
