Good news on No.7. She's been away far too long.

The top statement isn't true unfortunatley, yes she has been steamed but the boiler exam hasnt been passed yet. Dont get ahead of yourself. There are a few of us working really quite hard to make sure that the engine is right when it does come out again. Patience and correct facts are a virtue!

I can confirm what Gresleyman say is correct. A brief update for members of the Trust will go up soon.

The SNGLPT have always maintained that only information posted on their website holds validity, which, in my opinion, is the correct way to proceed.

Latest information on the NYMR unofficial forum says that an A4LS source unofficially suggests mid to late summer for a return to traffic.

Please God can they get a pass this time?! After all the hard work and money it must be so demoralising to suffer these set backs

Comment on another forum indicates that 60007 did pass its steam test on Thursday . Official confirmation awaited.

Further comment seen that Sir Nigel may be stretching his legs on Saturday.

Reports on Facebook suggest the firebox was found o be leaking again when Sir Nigel was back at Grosmont. Anyone know if this is true? I am hoping it is not - really devastating blow to the lads looking after Gresley if it is.

    eddief,

Sadly that is the case. Does anyone know how bad the leak is on 60007?

Hopefully, an update will be able to be issued later today confirming the situation and whether a rapid repair is possible.

I hope so Steve, I have a lot of happy memories of No;7 on the NYMR - I even managed a cab ride whilst shunting the dining train.
