    Good Day All

Well lets see, this past week, has been a week when I was in Devon, on holiday and when I am down there I don't read or post on here, but it seems a few managed it, can you please stay on topic if your going to post at all on this thread .

This thread is about Exmoor Associates, and what they are doing, not what they are talking about doing.

On Monday, some of us had a walk meeting with a land owner, identiied what work we would do on Wednesday when we turned up as a work party( 7 of us, with kit) so that both the work party and the landowner were in agreement.

On Wednesday we cleared all of the debris, that had created a beaver style dam and 2 massive tree root trunks that had come down river in storms and were jammed under the foot bridge, creating the parapet walls to become erroded and undercut bearing in mind the river is between 2 and 5 feet deep and flowing in the location.

All of the offending timber and some trees were cut up in the river and then removed, onto the bank for taking away , about a ton and a half of it.

The two roots jammed under the bridge about a ton each were winched down stream and out onto the bank today, using a 200 T winch tractor.

As well as this work, which was neccessary to save the historic little L&B footbridge, from being washed away, we started the task of clearing the latest aquired section North from Snapper, this is on going.

There should be some pictures on the EA site soon of what went on.

    Best Regards From TheEngineer

Can't EA find someone with some manners to let us know what's going on, because, to be brutally frank, your bombastic attitude is getting right up my nose.

Sad, Some people have to see the worst in others, I had six other EA supporters around me who felt it was a good and productive day, their view counts.

Those who are reading and are genuinely interested, we made a good days progress in the view of those who were there, that is all that matters.

Please ignore , the posting, worthless words when it comes to making progress.

As an EA shareholder, I have been extremely concerned about the postings by the Engineer which often suggest that he is acting as an official spokesperson for EA.

I have complained to EA concerning this issue and I am assured that Andy Richards (TheEngineer) does absolutely NOT respresent EA in any spokesperson capacity. EA, as a policy, does not post on any fora.

However, current news can be found on the EA website on http://www.exmoor-associates.co.uk/

    Sheep may now safely graze.

Perhaps we can now focus on the restoration of the Lynton and Barnstaple Railway. Whether we just support Exmoor Associates or the L&B Trust, or as many of us do, support both, it is time to put aside any perceived differences and strive together to rebuild this fabulous line.

"The words, "Pot", "Kettle", and "Black" spring to mind..... "

I repeat, EA does not post on fora and operates its own information network.

Snide comments help no one and I would have thought that you could use your time better, Mr Bellamy. Some of us just want to get on with rebuilding the line.

Your comment "England's finest narrow gauge line.... what an aspiration ..... right up there with 'Swindon's Finest Football Club'.... " is not a positive contribution. There are some grown up people who are working very hard at this moment to resolve issues and get on with extending the line.

Andrew may perhaps be occasionally a tad blunt, but he does not threaten violence against those he disagrees with! Having read Mr "Engineer"'s abusive and threatening message to Andrew (for which he has been banned from this Forum), I'd be wary about equating his approach to that of Andrew T. I personally feel that message should be brought to the attention of the police - it reads as a clear threat of violence to me.

In terms of public discourse, the "Engineer"'s illiterate postings have been the main cause for the view that the L&B project is disunited. Let's allow the various interested parties to continue their welcome moves to a more united approach and leave behind the negative approach of Mr Richards!

As the other party mentioned in Andy Richard's threatening PM, I must say that I agree that it should be a matter for the police. For Mr Bellamy to post, clearly supporting Andy Richards must inevitably reflect upon his actual intentions and ethics.

So, by alleging that a poster is intemperate and hypocritical I am displaying my intentions and ethics?!! What a curious set of assumptions you make good sir! Surely you know what they say about assumptions...?!! I for one would hesitate to assume anything about your good self...

Is it not time certain people took their bickering somewhere more appropriate? A school playground, for instance?

I would like to know more of developments on the L&B, an almost impossibility in this thread.

Perhaps they could be given their own thread, with a suitable health warning, where those of us who miss Monty Pythons and Stanley Unwin could go now and again to get a fix?

Meanwhile, the L&B & EA threads can get back to providing what the rest of us really want, news and progress updates without all the self-serving egotistical willy waving. :peace:

Right I think everyone agrees that there has been enough politics on this thread and it has gone wildly off topic so instead of the personal arguements can we get back onto the the subject of the thread and leave the personal arguements and playground squabbles elsewhere because if it continues we will be forced to lock the thread and we dont want to happen if it can keep us up to date with the developments of the EA and the L&B which is what the majority want to read about.

There are regular(ish) official updates posted on both the EA and L&B websites, which should provide plenty of real news over time to give forum members aspects to discuss in more detail. Just follow the green links in my Sig!

I suspect this is far from the first time he's been banned - i remember when he first popped up being quite convinced that 'TheEngineer' was just the latest reincarnation of our old anti-WHR friend 'renovator'. Its safe to say his recent behaviour hardly made me rethink...
