Probably working that day but would have been tempted otherwise - a note of caution on the times though - corresponding working on 1st May last year left Poole at 0636 and back at 2125 and I think they were originally intending to have a later start from Poole - mind you it was lovely listening to Ollie the noisy one starting from Poole and all the way up the bank to Branksome with very little traffic about due to the early start! As I expected it is an early start from Poole so long old day for me as I will be up to see "Tangers" head out and am then working into the small hours and will not be in a position to see them come back - we have had a good bit of rain in last 36 hours or so with more forecast for end of week so hopefully that will not be an issue on Saturday. 7 mins headway should be enough. They wouldn't have timed them that close together if it wasn't.

Went to Reading West to see the ecs. Bit disappointed really, 33207 was hauling the stock with 34067 being dragged backwards on the rear. I suppose it was better than a boring Duff or a rattling Tractor. Managed to get this picture.

Left Poole on time, loco sounding good. 33207 left in Poole sidings so Tangmere got to storm Parkstone bank unaided. Hope they have a good day!

She made it to the top of the bank in good style considering was a dead start from Poole and loco not warmed through! Disappeared in a cloud of steam and smoke under the road bridge at top of the bank - lovely smoke effects with the cold air this morning. Was on time away from Bournemouth with a nice clean start DH

Currently following traffic is being delayed.

Reports that there is a problem in the Filton Abbey Wood area.

Not clear what the exact problem is.

1130 Cross Country to Aberdeen still being held at Bristol Temple Meads..

Tangmere was going well when I saw her pass through Stapleton Road at about 11.15.

Currently stated on the National rail site:-

A broken down train is causing disruption at Filton Abbey Wood.

Because of this, there are delays of up to 30 minutes between Bristol Temple Meads and Bristol Parkway. These delays are expected to last until approximately 14:00.

    Ho hum.

I've just received a text saying Tangmere has failed. Admittedly this is third hand info. Hopefully it has only stalled as No. 7 has said, but sitting on Filton bank for an hour does seem to imply something more serious than just stalling.
