Not knowing York, I was wondering how they will turn 4492 after the first leg from KX. Sorry if this is a very obvious answer. Also will 4492 be serviced in the NRM?

There is a triangle at the southern end of York station.

Most likely will be serviced at the NRM... most engines are.

All very quiet on this trip. Originally Tornado in new clothes, first time out to Leeds and all that. Now something totally different, but can't believe you've all cancelled! I'm still on it hope some of you are.

Passed Welwyn North at 9.02, 6 mins after it should have passed Woolmer Green 2 miles further north. Nice to see it without the second tender.

About 10 late through Arlesey. Not a huge amount of effort from 4492 up front but a suspiciously noisy Class 37 on the rear.

Looks like a bad day for steam tours today, what with this & what's happened with the Devonian. Why is the diesel there today? I didn't think shunting at York was too much of an issue. Not sure of the load but noticed the 2nd tender was not in use. Bearing in mind the A4 ran unassisted to Bristol the other week with 2nd tender + 11 or 12 coaches.

Load 13 including support coach so not exactly a testing load for an A4 on the southern half of the ECML. Friends of mine saw it at Welwyn and soon after the Stevenage stop and report that the diesel was working at both locations. Whether it was making a significant contribution to forward motion is another matter though.

Anyone know if it's coming off and going via Church Fenton? Quite a few people having timings for it around there...

The Earl looked good passing Masborough Jct this morning unassisted so a little ray of hope.. Other tours spoiled by the dreaded 'box'

Looked like a helping-push at Langford :-( , and not going very fast either!

Looked superb with just the single tender.

    Cheers,

    Went Church Fenton way!

Just a note to the chaps at Colton Junction who I asked if they knew which way it was going... Maybe you should listen next time instead of shouting me down! ;)

Don't know what the weather is like across the country but its fairly windy where I am and doesn't look too hot so why the need fo the boxes I'm not sure unless the rest of the country is warm or hot.

She looks great without her second tender. Shame I don't know when I'll get to see 60019 as 4492 now though.

Doesn't need to be hot if there was been little or no rain for some time, the undergrowth soon gets dry.

Saw it arrive on Platform 4 at Peterborough at approximately 10.52 (26 minutes late) which it stayed there for 2 minutes. Considering going to Essendine (4 miles North of Stamford) to see it back.
