Just been checking, this is a new programme series. From the info on the History Channel web-page, it looks like tomorrow's programme may be on an aeroplane move, but definitely somewhere in the series is the one about the 8F's

The Sky guide doesn't yet make it clear which week it will be ...... anyway, I'll get it whenever it is!

It was an excellent programme, well informed, very interesting and featuring people who knew their stuff. Told the whole story from the initial inspection visit through to the arrival at Bristol.

I have it recorded in DVD quality......... anyone who missed it and wants to see it could make a donation to the GWSR Emergency Appeal and send me a PM ........

Cracking programme well enjoyed. I watched it twice with my 4 year old son on my lap who wanted to know when they would be painted and get to the muesuem! Did wonder what the traction inspector was actually inspecting when they were banging lumps of wood into the corroded air pipes to plug the holes. If that eventually passed inspection then what would fail??

Did wonder how the 8f graphic moved as the valve gear and motion seemed to owe more to artistic interpretation than mechanical engineering!

I enjoyed it. Some nice shots of 45160 at Toddington as well. Where are they now Shildon (for the moment) and Barry aren't they?

Regarding the TV programme about the recovery of the 8Fs from Turkey that was on one of the satellite channels, anyone know when it is scheduled to appear on Channel 5, or whatever?

I think one thing missed in the program was the duration of that journey.. 800 miles in 10 days at circa 25 mph..
Now that's some ride sat in the tender !

That's like going London to Edinburgh and back

Watched the superb film last night.

And got even more enjoyment than that by reading through this whole thread. Nat Pres stropping at it's very best.

Wonderful stuff. It will get Oscar nominated I'm sure, (this thread, not the film).

PS. Did 46118 get shot in the end for asking where they were going?
