    Hi all,

Collection of 42 shots from Spitfire's "The Royal Scots Grey" plus the two positioning runs are now on my site. 55022 ran like a treat,a true credit to its owner Martin Walker and all the lads who help to keep 22 running. A really top notch performance on all three days. Thanks to all involved with the succesfull running of the tours.

Thinking about the weekend, another option would have been RSG down to London on the Friday, The Salopian and 71000 Saturday and RSG home on Sunday.

Great shots as usual Mark. makes me jealous that things conspired against me meaning I didn't get to Finsbury Park to see RSG go through, although as you said, it went slow line and I was going to set up thinking it was on the fast!!
Doing all three days would have been great, its a good idea using the stock positioning move as a fare paying train, don't know how many were on it but it must have covered costs I would think.

Some great shots there Mark from your weekend mate.

As you will have seen already, Mark has kindly added my shot at Ansty as a guest shot. I have never gone out to phot a diesel railtour before, but with the great weather on the day, a day out linesiding couldnt be turned down. As an active steam follower, i have to admit that 22 was turned out very nicely. Preservation is a great sucsess story, no matter what traction it is!!

Cheers guys, you will be going on a Deltic tour in a few months Oli,not that me and dad are trying to convert you or owt! :D

As for amount of pax, there were around 300 on Friday and a similar number on Sunday, certainly was much better been able to go on the ECS. Lets hope Spitfire continue this tradition they have started. Would be nice to do a Carnforth-Bristol for the 37s at the end of March but obviously its too late for that.....

The problem as I understand it is that if you move the stock empty, then NR charge a certain fee for the track use, but put passengers in, however few, and the charge increases quite a bit as it's now a revenue earning run. So there needs to be a fair number of passengers to make it viable. Also of course it then means you have to have extra staff/stewards on the train to look after door locking etc.

I gathered that would be a bit of a stumbling block, hopefully for Spitfire it has been a success.
