Tornado 60163 is set to star at the East Lancashire Railway Steam Gala, it is also planned for the locomotive to stay at the ELR from the 23rd-31st October giving plenty of opportunities for people to travel behind it.
    For more information visit: http://www.a1steam.com/index.php?option=com_content&view=article&id=47&Itemid=148l
Other locomotives based at the East Lancs have been mentioned elsewhere on the internet and I will post the final 'line up' as it is announced on the East Lancashire Railway Website, if you wish to check the website for further information as it emerges it can be found here: http://east-lancs-rly.co.uk/
I will update this thread as more details are confirmed.

Posted on the ELR forum that 60163 will run 7 out of the 9 days of it's visit. It will not be in service on the Monday or Friday of it's visit.
    Regards

The ELR website has now been updated with information added about the gala so here goes...

Alongside 60163 and 5690 at the gala both 45337 and 44871 will star "plus other locos". During Tornado's visit 'fantastic Tornado prizes can be won'. Also confirmed that Tornado will NOT be in service on the 25th or 29th. A steam gala timetable will operate on the 23rd-24th, green timetable during the midweek runs and blue timetable on the 30th-31st. Special fares apply for the steam gala weekend. This is your chance to come close with the famous A1 Tornado for one week only on the ELR!

I'm hoping to attend on the Sunday of the Gala, and may even go during the week. I also believe that the Jinty will be in service of the Gala?

As far as I know it will be. When a 'final' lineup of engines is posted on the ELR website I will post it here. Until these things are confirmed though I would not like to say for definate either way.

Forgot to mention early on but very importantly this will be 5337's FIRST gala since recent overhaul, one to watch out for.

Another visitor has been confirmed on the ELR website as the Caprotti 5 73129! This engine will also work some mid-week services.
44871 has been sent to Scotland to cover mainline duties and therefore will now NOT attend the ELR gala.
When more information is available it will be posted here.

Looks as if this will be the first time since the gala at the CVR? a few years ago that both Caprotti locomotives will appear together, 73129 and 71000!

73129, as far as I know, hasn't gone to the CVR. But 71000 is due to make it's first appearance there next month for the Caldon Lowe Gala.

73129 and 71000 have only appeared together at Butterly.
73129 has only visited GCR (Winter gala) WSR (S&D Gala) and Swanage (End of SR Steam) IIRC before now.

My mistake about them meeting up at the CVR, apologies for the confusion caused.

The timetable for the midweek services is now up on the Tornado page of the ELR website, please refer to my earlier post for the link.

Is there going to be a roster for the midweek as the t/t only has room for 2 locos, with a possibility of 4 given ?

Does anyone know which way the locomotives will be facing at the gala?

Posted elsewhere that Tornado is expected to face Rawtenstall. 45337 faces Rawtenstall, 5690 faces Rawtenstall. I don't have information on the others. All information is posted in good faith and was correct at the point of posting, I apologise if the situtation changes and thereafter what I have posted in this post becomes incorrect
