    Just back from Java as tour mngr for the RTC tour

    39 locos in steam+ 1 VB steam roller

    About 30 were in steam for"normal" sugar mill work with the rest as charters.

    Solo--street running/cabrides/entertainment AA

    Cepu Forestry--2 locos in steam. Logs on board

    Ambarawa Rack--1 loco to the top with another being prepared

    Gongdang Baru/Jatibarang Mills steam charters - rare

    Sragi--8 locos working simultaneously

    Semporo--2 ng fireless working - mallet charter-- BUFFALO DOUBLE HEADER

    Merican-205 mallet shunting(last "normal" ng mallet industrial in the world)

    lots of other sugar mills

    amazing tourist programme. LOTS OF FUN!!!!

    No!!! You made me laugh loads--cheers! When I shared your comments Nigel chortled + was glad he hadn't advertised an 8F by mistake!!!

    My final tally was 177 steam locos(approx) about 50-55 were prob serviceable in the short term or running

    If you can get to Java,do!! Its easy on your own + several grps go ie Far rail LCGB Rob Dickinson. RTC hope to visit in 2011 but time is running out for this amazing spectacle incl 700mm water buffalo.......Now,how to advertise that without causing upset......RAY

    Glad I brought a bit of mirth into proceedings.
    Java is on my "to do" list but my problem is I have to shut down my business to go on holiday and taking 14 days plus is toying with my customers loyalty.
    Haven't seen Rob since getting slightly tipsy in an impromptu sub-zero roadside party in Weihe back in 2003.
