First photo, the crews pose with a headboard at Northiam (in East Sussex BTW?) kindly lent by one of the exibitors whose name escapes me at present for a couple of runs early morning on the Saturday. Plenty of innuendo flying around at this point.... Anyone who wants a higher res version as a keepsake or for anything else worthy (within the bounds of decency.. ) Please pm your email address to me.

Despite the weather continually changing been sun and showers I had a good time yesterday. The half hourly timetable been Tenterden and Northiam worked well. The railway seemed busy from Midday onwards, after a slow start.

RE Belle 1, yes East Sussex, the border is on the bridge over the river between Wittersham and Northiam I believe. Six of my damp photos are now on flickr...

I like it there, quiet and peaceful and when the freight trains terminate there a lot is going on! I just couldnt believe how cold and horrible it was that day though! More like a Winter Gala than a Spring one!

I like the video actually for the same reason, but it was horrible taking it like you say. Thanks to my big golf umbrella, I just hid under that camera/camcorder and all! When I got home my Dad said my programme looked years old it had got that read and wet and torn!

Wittersham is a strange place, it can be fantastic there when the weather is nice but it's not unusual to see horizontal rain there at times, seems to have it's own little weather system!!

Having already announced the Diesel Gala at the KESR (last weekend in June) will feature the Class 27 kindly loaned by the GCR and D9504, our recently returned Class 14, there is now the possibility that one of the home fleet will make an "unexpected" appearance! Watch this space....

Now, I understand that there will be good reason for the railway not to make an announcement just yet. but this interwebnet thingy is all about speculation! Looking at the KESR website, it seems to me there are only 3 candidates - the 03, 08, GWR Railcar. I shall indeed "watch this space." KESR is a terrific railway!

The 03 is scheduled to be part of the gala, and always has been. The 08 and Railcar are in various states of repair, and neither will be running on the day.

Right, I've finally gotten round to reading the website myself. It would seem that our unexpected appearance is actually totally expected, as it is listed on the details of the event! (Wanders off muttering comments about optimism.....)
