I fired her on the test train today and she pi**ed the job :) What a lovely little engine, steams well but very controllable and sounds very good working hard up into Tenterden, you may struggle to get her back to Tun Wells ;-)

Well done to all concerned on another excellent gala, my Dad and I really enjoyed it, got some good phots despite the mixed weather and thought the Jinty looked great paired with the set of BR wagons. Looking forward to photting 80072 with the wagons tomorow morning.

    Cheers

Had a fantastic day today on the Jinty all day, very enjoyable with all the crews making us very welcome it was very easy to blend in! looking forward to another good day tomorrow. the loco proved very popular with all the crews that drove/fired it, it attacked the bank 3 times with no problems at all still making steam against a fully open regulator and injector!! its nice to have a long run for a change. Thanks again guys and well done for putting on a brilliant show.

Well if your in Sussex now there are currently 2 SECR P class tanks. Does seem strange seeing the Standard on the line.

Yes, Dan, the 4MT is a little larger than our usual fare! As for the P Class, it would not surprise me if they got together one day.

Here are some pictures taken on the Saturday http://phil-edwards.photobook.org.uk/c1844408.html

Funny how that headboard kept turning up on various locos......

Looks a great gala. Haven't been down to the line for a few years now. Are the rumours true that 753 is going to be repainted in WW1 colours or magazine rumours. It would be good if 753 made a return visit to the Bluebell or 323 and 178 visit the KESR.

Had a nice day today although it rained non stop all day! Even when it was bright it was raining and in the afternoon the wind picked up so it was cold and wet! My video to follow although I suspect all that will be heard is the sound of rain on umbrella and my pictures all look like bin jobs but I might be able to salvage some! Had two nice round trips of the line though.

    Hello all,

I spent a short time Sunday morning in the apocalyptic rain and most of today wondering about the countryside and stations, camera in hand!
I don't think it was as good as last years, the impressive rain on Sunday didn't help, but it still had a good atmosphere and I still enjoyed myself!

    A couple of my shots:

I had a fantastic day yesterday bar the awful weather. It was my first visit for around 10 years and I will certainly make sure it is not that long until I visit next. The only bad point was the 16.30 ex Tenterden being caped where I had to ask to be told it was cancelled. However other than that all staff were very helpful and many thanks have to go to all those involved in a great gala.

Thanks to everyone who braved the awful weather to come and visit us and all the staff at the KESR who make these events possible. Another great gala, so many people thought we'd never get a standard tank to the railway.........
Thanks must also go to the loco owners for letting us play with their toys and the minders from the Spa Valley for offering sound advice and having a laugh with us.
    Now, about next year............

Thanks to everyone for the very warm welcome down at the K&ESR this last weekend, despite me bringing down some "northern" weather with me!

I got back at around 3am this morning after a number of hold ups on the way back with the traffic. I was then in work today so I haven't had a chance to look at the few photos I did yet but may post some up later and a bit more about how it went from my side of things.

If you happened to be at Northiam over the weekend I probably told you where you could stick your car or exibition stand at some point, in the nicest possible way of course! :thumb:

    Cheers, Neil.
