Got to agree it does take the excitement away somewhat. The selling point here was that Nunlow woud be working solo and working hard. If it does have to be double headed it's a shame there isn't another industrial for it to work with although I am sure it could run solo load 4 if the organisers really wanted to please the industrial fans.

Because the decision to double head it seems un popular, I will attempt to re timetable Nunlow (Solo) on 4 suburban coaches.

Iv seen Nunlow drag Load 6 and a dead Bahamas from Ingrow to Haworth passing loop can't remember the date, it was a gala when Nunlow had just arrived back from Swanage.

Now there's an idea, put it out load 6+ and there'll be bums on the increased number of seats! :D

You have to understand that its not the gala organisers that put limitations on engines, more the locomotive owners (BLS) and then the Railways CME.
But if putting Nunlow on a round trip alone is more popular then its better for you (us - the enthusiasts) and me and the gala team for attendance.
It does pull 4 and the ivatt dead to Ingrow at one point too! :)

For those interested the timetables are currently with the Traffic Manager for looking over and tweaking where required.
I also re did the friday ones to include the N2 on some vintage coaches from the VCT with probably the GN bogie coach and 6 wheeler involved in the rake, possibly 2 Mets too.
This will take place friday morning for all the Photters wanting a shot of them.
    (Presuming everything stays the same)

Looking good Kieran, am there for the duration really looking forward to it. The length of day at the KWVR is always very good, look forward to seeing the timetables.

The bonus is if the weather takes a turn the ale served on the train is mighty fine!

Timetables still been reviewed but coming together nicely now.

Just to confirm a few things etc:

    Friday Loco's are: 1744 / 90733 / 80002 / 41241 and 1704 (Nunlow)
The VCT coaches will be used on the FRIDAY ONLY, as they have no steam heat and we cant really not have steam heat capable coaches over the weekend.
These will be used behind the N2 and also on Nunlow's round trip as things stand at the moment, the consist is 5 coaches now from the VCT, so Nunlow will pull this.

Saturday and Sunday. - All home loco's will be in traffic + Nunlow and the N2.
Mix of local trains and shuttles, freight features alot because June gala did not have much because of the Mainline shuttles.

    More soon.

Many thanks for keeping us updated, Kieran. It's all sounding very good!
Now then, you are doing very well so far, but can you also arrange for the fine weather? We'll be happy to pay extra for that!

As well as the usual stress of writing the timetables etc we're also looking at writing a "contingency timetable" - just incase the snow returns, as running a extensive timetable isnt going to be easy if that happens

Most certainly Kieran, better than Christmas in fact, I seem to have got just what I wanted!
Why can't other railways do it like this?

There is a train from London to Leeds at least half hourly and trains run up the Aire Valley to at least this frequency, on occasions they can be as frequent as every 12 minutes. However we write the timetables, our trains are bound to depart fromKeighley just after one main line service and just before another. As our trains arrive at Keighley usually about 20 minutes before the next KWVR departure, the most that anyone will have to wait at Keighley without any acitivy is about 5-10 minutes.

In reply to 'Rough SHunter', the operation of mixed trains on the KWVR ha been prohbited by law since the Oakworth run away of 1874.

  19. Thanks david for clarification i was sure i had read it somewhere.
