I'd love to see No7 back aswell even more so if she was on coal and i could have the chance to fire her. Most of the money is in place for that to be done just waiting on the new sheds so we have space to crack on. In reply to the bosses Marshall he's not far off he was measuring the brass band for under the bellytank to get that fitted and the tanks back on then he said it was just a case of getting it painted then slipping the front axle assembly in and getting it lined out. Was also getting a chimney rolled to suit a cap he has as it was cheaper than getting a new cap spun. Another engine i cant wait to see out, will be a good engine when its done.

 

There are so many engines that seem to pop up in conversation that I have no idea about! There must be pictures of these things somewhere. I am striving to see a picture of every narrow gauge loco...but I am sure they are cropping up quicker then I can find piccies for them!!

 

A tad unlikely, methinks. Owain Glyndwr is more probable.

Hi Guys i have been AWOL from this group for a few months but interesting enough I was at the Brecon Mountain Railway when a certain NG15 was having it boiler taken off the frames the boiler itself was shot to peices and the frames didn't look any better either, I was told it was going back into storage for now but it was being worked on it could be that the NG15 may be one of the few to be restored to static condition,I don't know, but I have been informed that much of the collection requires mega amounts of money to restore so it is not going to happen over night, also what would be the point in restoring omething if there is no where for it to run yet?

 

Given the seperation of interests that occured between Tony Hills & Peter Rampton in the 90s, would the NG15 not belong to the BMR? PJR does have an NG15 in Surrey - though I suppose it is quite feasiable he owns two!

Incidentally the latest word from the grapevine is that parts from one of the Rampton locos may be going onto a new build loco for use in the West Country - take it with a pinch of salt if you wish though!

The WHRS is working on one of theirs, 120 has disapperead from Portmadoc to a new location and I understand that 121 requires a new boiler, I am told that 135 is a total wreck, but is that not true of all the NG15 in this country anyway?
