Anyone any news on the current whereabouts of or progress on restoring Bagnall 3023?
It used to be at WHHR, but left sometime ago to undergo restoration. Sister engine Gelert is a nice-looking loco, so it'll be good to see this one back in revenue earning service!!

I believe it is being overhauled by Ian Howitt in W. Yorkshire. Think it is intended to go to the L & B, if they want it - it may fall foul of politics/personalities like Gertrude did bbut I'm sure that someone somewhere will want it!

Oh come on chaps! Please don't assume the worst - I know the owner and Howitt and I'm sure everything will go to plan.

Any update on timing here? Anyone know when it's due to be finished?

At the risk of sounding flippant, when it's finished. Ian is doing a Rolls Royce job on it and I'm sorry to say I don't believe you can put a timescale on it - not down to exact months and years anyway. The same for any restoration really due to the usual "known unknowns" - if it were not so, my steam roller would have been out last year.
