That photo of Tornado's a splendid one. I like the way that the track cant can be seen clearly too - look at the carriages, especially the rear ones! It gives a real impression of speed.

Very good photographs, especially those of 34067 (well, I'm biased..!).

    Thanks!

Ironically, Tornado was held at signals and was doing about 20 mph!

Me thinks that it will be one of these two which wins 'Main Line Loco' of the year the way they been going.

I'm not sure about the northern scene, but down south, I think either Tangmere, Tornado, Clan Line or Oliver Cromwell could win that title - my money would be on Tangmere, always puts on a show and always worth going out of your way to see.

Well it won't be Oliver Crowmell will it. Donated money to get it running again, and finally thought I was going to see it when it was surposed to be down at Weymouth and the bloody thing didin't turn up!

So does "Mainline Loco of the Year" mean 'the one that does most miles'?

For sheer, beastly, exhilarating performance, I'd vote for 46115 (and crew) on Great Britain 2, not to mention there and back over the S&C after the snow, and the southbound Scot over Shap.
