Enjoyed a lovely run behind Kinlet last weekend, great to see her on the SVR. 43106 has apparently had her tender reattached indicating that trial steamings are imminent. First passenger runs are being held back for the Autumn gala. According to SR an approach for Khaki mogul 5322 has been made and approved from Didcot for the gala, providing road loading issues can be sorted due to the closure of Melton Depot (the previous loading point). The proposed visit of 6100 'Royal Scot' is definitely off.

Bottom end to be done at Bridgnorth, boiler to be completed at Crewe. Should be reunited and steamed next year at SVR.

'43106 moved under it's own steam yesterday (Friday) revealing a few expected teething problems.'

At a guess steam leaks or minor lubrication issues would be the main ones. There are usually a number of small probs when a loco has been taken apart and put back together again which are revealed when a loco is first steamed. The main point coming from Boldford's post on the SVR forum was that they were 'expected' problems and therefore nothing major. I am suprised that no one has any pics yet...?!

Not wanting to wish the Autumn gala away before it's even arrived but two additional visitors to look forward to are 'Tornado' in October (half term week) and 6024 which according to SVR Online is due to arrive after a railtour on Oct 24th (from Shrewsbury) and stay for around a month. Anyone know if there are plans to use it? Maybe an impromptu Big Engines day with 'Tornado'? Certainly it has been a very impressive year for visiting motive power, I make it 10 by the end of the year if they all materialise including 4 pacifics, a King and a Castle!

The Railtour on the 24th October, has been cancelled, according to the Torbay Express Limited website, although the King is still listed as going to the Severn Valley on the 6024 website.

    43106

    Again from the SVR on-line:
'lit up this afternoon' (Sunday) 'ready for boiler insurance exam tomorrow: assuming all is well, it will probably start making a few trips down the line soon after, initially light engine'.
So much an icon of the SVR in early days along with 45110. I'm REALLY looking forward to this one.

43106 has now made a light engine foray from Bridgnorth to Hampton Loade and back.

Another unique engine on the way back, and one of a reducing number of the previously "stored outside/out of ticket" engines on the SVR.

A few taken today. She's been up and down the line several times between service trains, and the mileage is now in three figures.

Interesting to note that the new tender body still retains what I assume is the space for the tablet exchanging apparatus, I wonder if this engine has one-time M & GN connections?

Come on, dace83, one for you!
