(removed in photoshop) Making its way from Crewe to Grosmont for the NYMR Gala A4 class No. 60007 'Sir Nigel Gresley' crosses Capernwray viaduct heading for Hellifield and onwards to Grosmont

    Excuse me going a bit off topic here but has there ever been a reason as to why it's called "Flopsie"? Because naming a hulking great lump of diesel-powered metal after a small pink toy rabbit is quite funny, but I assume there must be something behind it.

    Fire risk is red is it not?, so the loco could not run without a diesel. Likewise Tornado's move back from Swanage on Tueday shows it will be hauled by a diesel.

    I suspect its no longer red up here as it seems to have rained most days for a couple of weeks (at least, may actually be longer than that) in the north west now.

    I still can't get my head round this idea that the steam TOC's go to to the not insubstantial cost (wear and tear, fuel, crew etc) of whacking a diesel in a consist for some kind of laugh or unnecessary reason?
