    44871 was in charge of ;The Christmas White Rose' from Cambridge to York, yet again last minute platform change from P5 to P11, there seems to be a conspiracy with the signalling staff at York doing this!!

    No conspiricy Neil. We were sat out at Holgate waiting for Platform 5 but it was occupied by a late running Cross Country train. With Plat 11 vacated it made operating sense (yes, that does happen sometimes;)) to put us in there instead. There are staff, both signallers and controlers, in the ROC who appreciate the desire to use Plat 5 for steam specials and they utilise it where they can, but they also have to be mindfull of the overall operating picture.
