Is that still likely to be the situation for the Gala please? It is where the Observation Car goes that interests me the most.

A set will be as it is now (5 Mk1s)
B set planned to be 2 Mk1s, 1 Maunsell, Car 14
C set planned to be 3 Mk1s, 1 Maunsell and Bulleid CK 5761

All being well it should be the first time in several years that we’ve had 14 coaches in service.

 

Good news the Bulleid coach will be finished overhaul in time.
Not sure if the timetable has been updated, but it now shows 926 will now be set A, B or C depending on time of day?.

 

D6515 is back at Swanage.

 

Many thanks. So if I do come down it looks like 30506 and 34070 entering Swanage past the loco shed on set A will be the shots I will prioritise if I can.

Would it not be better if car 14 was attached to Set B to make two 4 car sets and the Bulleid to Set C Also are the set allocations to trains still the same?

Is the timetable to be updated?

 

926, hauled by diesel loco, just went through Corfe heading for Swanage.

 

Hasn't been updated since it went live 4 weeks or so ago

 

Even by the usual disruption caused by a railtour yesterday afternoon seemed up there with the worst, maybe even surpassing the infamous Deltic tour.
We were having lunch with a couple of the stewards so missed what happened between tour arrival and about 16:20. But as I was collecting my car from the Coop Car Park the stock for the 16:00 was being drawn into P1 at 16:20. I think this was signalled to leave about 16:30 but then after Eddystone's first aborted attempt to enter the station with the stock, appeared to be cancelled. The tour took for ever to load because as can be seen the front 4 coaches all had to be loaded via just one door.
The tour thus left late (but was only 7 late at Worgret Junction) and there seemed to be (for a wet and miserable September day) a fair few for what I assumed was the 16:40 and 16:00 combined. No idea when it departed but I happened to see the train coming back in from Norden at 18:37 (due at 17:35). As the S15 needed to come down from Norden as well that may have delayed things more, no idea when that arrived.
In the attached image you can also see the paramedic car that attended the incident. The ambulance is either hidden or had left by then.

As they are SR specific some of the tour on Swanage Metals on a very wet and gloomy afternoon.

 

Does anyone know how the person who fell off the platform is?

 

I was told he was an elderly rail tour patron whose wife/partner was in a wheelchair so could not accompany them in the ambulance.
That is only heresay as I was at Corfe Castle station at the time.
In any event, I hope they were not too badly injured and that they have recovered from the shock of the incident.

Not sure Peter ,as one of the railtour stewards I asked after the tour had not heard it was a tour pax. In the past all the stewards would know, as other passengers would ask how someone taken ill for example was doing.

 

I see from the loco roster (obviously a typo) 74 Squadron is running on Saturday.
Although Manston was replaced by the U today.

 

I've checked with the loco roster on HOPS & it is showing 31806 in service until Sunday, this will be with the normal caveats.
Over the weekend it will be running with a 33 hauled set on the green timetable.
