The best comment on there so far is someone saying it's a Western Region 4-6-0 so they could have used anything including a Manor and a Castle and it would have looked the same! ;)

    Cheers,

Hopefully they have negotiated a suitably daft hire rate with the production company that it ensures its next overhaul is funded- the cost and waste in TV and film is ridiculous so they will hopefully get a good bite at the cherry.

The Bluebell have shared this link to the BBC on their Facebook page.

    https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/articles...kEKOagzAqEsPkxG5al_aem_oPvyjt5PjusF8FffC-GwXA

Says the loco will spend 6 months of the year filming and then return to the Bluebell. Also says a team from the Buckinghamshire Railway Centre will supervise the loco during filming and ensure it's maintained properly.

I did see a few weeks back that they are building a Kings Cross Platform 9 3/4 set at the studios, but not sure if they intend to use a railway for other scenes involving the loco.

3 mk1s have been bought for the filming work as well. 2 SKs and 1 TSO.

    Will they survive the filming?

It's good to know that they still want to use physical stock, rather than generating it all with CGI+AI.

I agree, it's great they actually chose to use a real locomotive and carriages, in this day and age they could just have used CGI.

I was under the impression it was only at Bluebell til the end of '26 so will it literally go back for the Christmas season?

I was under the impression it was currently only staying until the end of this year until I saw the article, but did wonder if the loan to the Bluebell would be extended, given that 263, 323 and 541 are yet to return. I'd assume filming will be taking place in the Autumn/Winter into 2026 period when the Bluebell runs fewer services or shutdown for maintenance.

What did you put that photo on for. No doubt a group will now be formed to build the missing link.
