There was one at the nearby Cardinal Brewery as photographed in May 1983. I'm unaware of its current status.

Austerity “Haulwen” ex works at Gwili. The black and white wasp stripes have been confirmed as correct by an ex Mountain Ash fitter.

    regards

One I described as a modern fireless. OMV Aktiwengas No 1 0-6-0 fireless ,built SGP /1961 .At Gross Schwecham Wien Austria. Taken on 20/03/1996.The loco past by the V E F museum in Wein. I was more interested in the 50.35 2-10-0 that was outside the museum 503670 ,a loco that seems to have disappeared in recent times.

Let us hope it gets its proper identity back, rather than pretending to be a J94 and skewing history as so manyt others have done. A red, blue or green engine is much more inrtersting and if really into the preservation game, what we should be aspiring to

It didn't have wasp stripes at Mountain Ash in any photo I have seen of it.

Accurate or not I think looks pretty nice :)
Not to mention that I don't think many British steam locos have worn wasp stripes in preservation, let alone in this black & white style so I think it helps in making Haulwen look unique

A few things I've seen recently:
    - Haulwen returned to service today
    - Austerity tank HE3163 WD132 Sapper at the Dean Forest Railway could be out on trials following overhaul next month, and it's hoped it'll be ready in time to cover for 9681 which is scheduled to have some work done.
    - Fellow Austerity RSH 7139, WD152 Rennes is apparently not too far behind with a return to steam hoped for later this year.
    - If you haven't already seen, the Embsay & Bolton Abbey Steam Railway hosted its Hunslet Gala last weekend, with 6 Hunslets in steam, 2 on display in one piece and one under overhaul (HE 3168 Wheldale). It was a brilliant event - go look on Youtube or other social media!
    - Hunslet 1873 Jessie is staying at Embsay for another couple of weeks prior to returning to Blaenavon and will be in service this weekend.
    - At Blaenavon, Hudswell Clarke 1208 Illingworth/Seacole/Mitchell/Nightingale/Harold/88/Swynnerton - possibly the most named loco in preservation - is covering for Jessie.
    - The 'lost' Hunslet, Newstead has been out on more mileage accumulation testing with 3-5 coach trains. Looking forward to this one returning especially.

possibly not accurate to Haulwen at MA but No8 certainly has them so it’s pro-typical. As No8 is in LMR livery and 7754 is in BR colours then it was a reasonably good opportunity to do something different.

    regards
