Looking at the timetables I assume the trains will pass at Thuxton - although on Friday and Saturday 1W03 is due to leave Thuxton before 1D02 has got there. Is there another loop further down the line outside of Thuxton?

EDIT - someone noted this on Facebook and those runs will be 10mins earlier.

The Spa Valley Loco Department Facebook page has said that with the imminent movement of 34053 to the MNR, it will be retaining it's 34050 Royal Observer Corps guise from the Spa Valley's Cuckoo Line gala for its visit to the MNR.

There's a photo on their Facebook of the Ivatt and 4MT facing Dereham and 34050 facing Wymondham. 31806 should face the same way as the Bulleid.

No alterations planned but the crews have been told to work the locos lightly.

    All ran as rostered .
Trains very quiet ..I suspect most passengers were retired local couples .
Last trains delayed by reports to Sam of a lineside fire .Eventually proceeded at caution and saw nothing …probably to strange smoke emitted by 34053 on the previous train .
Morrisons closed mid afternoon when ice creams needed .Sam in attendance at the time and still closed at 1915…

Thanks for that. Maybe some photos will follow. I hope visitor numbers improve today, the lorry costs alone in getting the locos moved will be very high.

Edit - found a few photos here. https://www.facebook.com/midnorfolkrailway

By the way, who is Sam please?

Four images of the loco's taking part .I've got 5/6 B/W to process as yet ,wont be soon ,to hot for darkroom work .I hope of interest. Loco 'taking their time past two field's of ripe corn near Wymondhall abbey. Could be expensive if they went up in smoke.

Nice photos. I particularly like the one of 41313 at Yaxham.

    Many thanks,

Thanks Neil. It's a Gala, it wouldn't be right if the timetable didn't slip a bit! ;)

I was on the trains in the middle of the day yesterday and would say it was reasonably busy. Not full so you could comfortably find a seat, but not deserted either. Plenty of people around at Dereham and Wymondham, and a few at Thuxton as well. Timetable worked much better than last years event, all on time until the last couple of trains.
A few pictures, including a couple of passing trains at Thuxton.

Really nice passing photos at Thuxton.

An added bonus for me is that you can't see the non-green coaches behind either of the SR locos!
