I'd like a word about this matter on the understanding that #1 I'm not condoning Mr Weltrols post, and #2 I'm not trying to be a back seat moderator.
Mr Weltrol always came across as a decent person, in this matter he made an error of judgement, he made a mistake, a mistake that I feel sure he regrets.
To suspend a guy for making a mistake is IMO a bit harsh.
    Just my opinion.

In this case I think it is a matter of letting the offender back in.

Yes I am an active volunteer
I missed this, being away on hols, so I’ve no idea what he said, but I’d just like to say that I’ve never had any issues with any of Weltrol’s previous posts.
EDIT : I am now privy to the contents of Weltrol’s post. Whilst my previous comment above stands, I now think that in this case he has got off very lightly indeed. What on Earth possessed him to say that?

Well, it happened, the moderators acted, IMO it's best if we moved on. Speaking personally I look forward to Mr Weltrols return in the not too distant future.

I also missed it, and have no idea what he wrote.
I messaged him off-forum, he seems to have no idea either...?

Some very selective memory there given he preceded the sick attempt at humour with 'at risk of offending people'. It was the sort of joke that you wouldn't even consider after a hard night at the pub amongst mates, let alone a public forum.
Suffice to say the suspension is fully warranted, the comment was beyond offensive and the sooner everyone moves on from this the better as it definitely doesn't need repeating.

Don't worry I've no intention of repeating it... I've now been made aware of the content of the comment, and suffice to say that it isn't one I'd have made; however were one of my mates to come out with something similar down the pub, I would probably just roll my eyes and move on, rather than taking great offence. But that's me, and others have different sensitivities, I understand that.
What I found strange is that nobody had apparently contacted Weltrol to advise him of the nature of his transgression. Still, hopefully he'll be allowed back in at some point.

    Lets get back to Tornado.

If it was necessary for anybody to advise him of the nature of his transgression he must be even less
    sensitive than I originally thought.

I'm not defending him (he could do that himself, if someone were to contact him!) but he said that he borrowed the 'joke' from one on another older thread... if so then it would seem strange and unexpected to be banned for something which apparently was allowed previously. (That said, I can't find the other post he's referred to - maybe removed as well? - so I can't say whether the context was the same or not.)

[Personally, I am strongly in favour of free speech and would not seek to censor anything much beyond racism or incitement to violence... but then I'd be a lousy forum moderator so probably just as well I'm not one. Whatever.]

Libel? That can get very expensive. Unfortunately, for some "free speech" means "the right to say what I like and not have any comeback from it".

Life (and the law) does not work like that.

As others have said - back to 60163. Please?

At least on the face of it 60163 has been reliable as far as any steam loco can be since it returned to the mainline, and its not missed any of its booked turns either, Hopefully it remains fault free, as there are not that many air braked engines West Coast can call on, when you add wash outs and routine maintenance clearly there is not much in the way of reserve, as the Jacobite will take two engines away for the main season, leaving just Tangmere, a Black Five, and Tornado, and Eddystone, once its been load tested but I would imagine, the London based work will be shared between Eddystone, and Clan Line, when she is available.
