The NVR turns to the WR to bail them out again ;). Best news! This will be the second 5101 Class that I've seen there.

On a serious note, Ian, I hope all goes well with 34081 at the East Lancs. It was good seeing her at the NVR.

Very 'good' (FSVO) to see, as I was working that day. I note that the YT comments have attracted a right Berkeley Hunt.

I just had a text message from @Spamcan81 telling me 34081's already had a boiler washout at Bury and a steam test is to follow: if successful, she'll be in traffic on the ELR next week.

However, one thing occurred to me when this move happened: how on Earth did it get north, given that the direction it took involves a very sharp ascending left turn onto a bridge to cross the A1 to get to the northbound carriageway - or did it go southbound first and double back?

There’s a drone shot of it crossing the A1 via the flyover at Stibbington so one assumes it headed north straight away. The rig carrying the loco is all steering so that left turn may not have been too much of a problem.

I was more thinking about the ground clearance at that turn, but kudos to S. A. Smith for the transporting of it. Good to see a fire's already lit in her too.

Had a report today from ELR that 34081 was brought up to full working pressure successfully this afternoon.

34081 passed her insurance exam today and will enter ELR service on Wednesday’s midday diner.

Apart from the clean floor could be one of several Southern sheds in the early 50s
