17 early off Carnforth missed out Hellifield stop. 159 early at Keighley.
Timings showed it as running to Shipley triangle, but doesn't look like that occurred.

A steam loco going from Carnforth to Bury, or onward to Rileys , for work to be done, perhaps a contract job, ? I wonder if its one of West coasts steam fleet going to ELR, possibly on hire, or for work to be done that Carnforth are to busy to do?

It's a light engine move - it would be 5Z39 if stock was involved.

I doubt Carnforth are that busy with their steam fleet at present - none of it is in high demand at the moment, and the one loco that was in use scattered its left hand cylinder across Cumbria a few weeks ago.

Anyway, it's timed for 75mph so it'll be a diesel of some description. It'll be either 50 or 60mph if was a steam loco light engine.

Note this movement from Bishops Lydeard to Crewe on Thursday - I notice that it reverses at Hereford? Will it be boiler first at Cwmbran/Abergavenny? Never known them reverse at Hereford

See suggestion elsewhere that its a LE going to Bury to collect the 40 to bring it back to Carnforth?

I also note that it reverses just before at Hereford Signal H47 so it can go in to the bay platform 4 (access only from the north/Shrewsbury) most probably for water. The second reversal is just indicating it is leaving the bay platform the way it came in.
