Cackling at this warning. I've been to punk festivals in fields that never seemed to attract as much trouble.

Yes I am an active volunteer
There was quite a bit of bother at last year's Autumn diesel gala with the drunken passengers being quite abusive to staff.

The Spring Steam Gala also had professional security. A shame it is needed but better to have it than leave volunteers to try and control people.

From reading the thread on wnxx for this event seems today was a good day to be avoided.

I just walked through swathes of Celtic fans in the Trongate. Similar vibes from the reports over there.

Been here all day - exceptionally busy, however 99.6% are well behaved, good natured and enjoying a brilliant gala.

I've seen pictures of a smashed Mk1 window on the SVR tonight - clearly some idiots didn't take heed of the warning...

Apparently that occurred when the set was being locked up for the night. Just one of those things, not anything malicious. Not worth calling the police over, unlike the reports of a fight earlier and someone being pushed off the platform at Kiddy.

Beer and railways don't mix well. It's only a matter of time.

The overwhelming majority of people yesterday were fine, if the troublemakers were the ones we encountered, I'm not sure they were even old enough to drink!!

Massive thanks to all who organised this event, had a first time diesel gala visitor with us yesterday who thoroughly enjoyed himself and felt that diesels and beer went together perfectly!
Quite possibly up there with the busiest I've ever passenger wise, way busier than the steam gala. No doubt a decent pay day for the railway and good reward for putting on a spectacular event.
    Well done all!
