Doesn't fill the quota of "I am sure it will set people talking!" in my opinion..

31806? Not needed at Swanage at the moment whilst the Bulleids cover the PE, and would certainly fill the ‘will get people talking’ quota.

Can't see 31806 or 76017 returning to MHR in the future especially after the whole drama that has happened.

Would meet the "will set people talking" criterion though!

Never say never, but something major will have had to have happened for that to come about, such as a visit from three spirits, :D or the need to have some income, ;) most likily option would be another hire loco from P&D railway, one in, one out, so, how about 75014, or the manor?

31806 is on a long lease to the SR, so effectively theirs to do what they want with for the duration. Unless there is a clause in the contract that prohibits sub leasing to the MHR, it is possible. More cash in the Swanage Railway coffers certainly wouldn’t go amiss at the moment.

Don't quote me, but i think there is a clause that gives the owner a veto over SR loaning out his engines to railways he does not want his engines to go to, even on short loans, if either 76017, or 31806 were to appear back on MHR metals, it could only happen if JB, had decided that the war between him and the MHR, is in fact now over, and it was time to seek peace.

There may or may not be but, given the history, I'd be very surprised if anyone sub-leased a loco to a railway where there'd been such a level of falling out - or that the railway would ask.

I doubt that the Paignton line would release 75014 at the moment; they need it for their Train of Lights

So your telling me that if the MHR management were to ask, can we borrow an engine, and 31806 happened to be spare, you would not phone JB and ask, do you mind if we lend the MHR one of your engines, rather than just send it, and wait for the phone call asking why didn't you tell me, ?

true, they could, but I'm wondering, if its Manston, i wonder if it's for a longer loan spell, as part of a long-term plan between SLL, SR, and MHR?
