Sorry if I've missed the information, but was today's 'Mancunian' from Euston with 45596 cancelled? Or is RH just out of date again (they have it as steam-hauled from Euston)?

A thought related to upcoming holiday season RYTC tours. Guessing that in addition to Riley Black 5 guessing that a shed 10a loco will go to London. Bahamas often returns to base for winter maintanence. 35018 for east coast runs mainline runs?

Not the destination of choice for a Xmas Market. I suggest.

Maybe £120 or so from Kettering to Nottingham, a 1 hr 45 min trip with 20 mins at Leicester for water, and diesel back had something to do with it.

However I see the York trip Saturday says extra seats added in all three classes. I guess First & Dining could be a split coach, but sort of implies at least wo extra coaches. Good load for my favourite Black 5.;)

Is 45596 heading back north then? Can't see any workings for it for the rest of year now.

44781 is due to haul the 21st and 25th November trips, I was rather hoping to see 45596 come to Cardiff or head for Chester on those dates.

Which Black 5 could be doing the Chester to Paddington trip on the 25th, 44932? Says it is diesel on the return.

Hoping BLS are arguing they need another steaming fee, a trip to Chester two days later will do. Wishful thinking on my behalf probably though!

Would you want to work steam long distance under the wires with no backup? It only takes a batch of bad coal ( not unusual nowadays) resulting in a lack of steam due to a clinkered fire, not being allowed to use the fire irons under the wires and they are in trouble.

It was always going to have a diesel as all the other Christmas trips with a '5'. No problem there. But if you then stick an extra coach or two on the load, taking it up to say 11 or 12 then it's a guaranteed dual motive power trip simply because the load is too much for a '5' on its own.

That was my point but let's wait and see what the load actually becomes.

The timings have been removed from Realtime for the Nottingham tour , there, were some unusual timings for latter on in the day,all been removed .LE Burton Wetmore to Humberstone Road Leicester, timmed at 70.Nottingham to Humberstone Road timmed at 60 ,Humberstone road to Keighley also 60.All wth the reporting code xx71.The run from London to Leicester only had one stop long enough for water Brent curve,so I dare say there would have been a good diesel push to save water .Any one getting trainline adds that completely stop me from typing to Nat Pres

An additional 15/20 minutes slack had been imposed into the timetable for the Ealing - Nottingham leg between Sharnbrook Jn and Wellingborough to take water off Podington Rd, Wymington shortly after exiting Sharnbrook tunnel.
